Content - Summary

La primera parte del presente documento corresponde al estudio realizado por la Dirección Nacional de Saneamiento del Vice Ministerio de Construcción y Saneamiento para la preparación del PRONASAR, y presenta un resumen de los hallazgos de las encuestas realizadas en julio de 2001 en 70 comunidades rurales de siete departamentos, de la costa, sierra y selva. Las encuestas estuvieron orientadas a obtener un diagnóstico sobre la situación actual de los servicios de agua y saneamiento en centros poblados rurales. Los resultados han sido comparados con la documentación sectorial sobre el tema, con el propósito de validar la información o establecer nuevos parámetros, para el diseño del PRONASAR. Las conclusiones del estudio servirán para identificar metodologías adecuadas en la ejecución de las obras, modelos de implementación, hacer ajustes institucionales y estimar las necesidades de rehabilitación y expansión de los sistemas de agua potable y saneamiento.
