Journalists in action

The West Asia North Africa (WANA) Chapter has started its activities in the region by announcing a call for women journalists to join a journalistic journey.

Five journalists from Jordan and Lebanon will be chosen to take part in this initiative. The Journalists (with specific backgrounds of water, sanitation and environment) writing in three languages (English, French, Arabic), will be chosen to take part in a 3-day workshop about recent sanitation and SDG6 challenges in the two countries.

The interactive workshop will enable them to choose one pressing topic (from Jordan and Lebanon) to write an investigative story. Journalists from Jordan will only be allowed to choose an issue from Lebanon, and vice versa. This method will allow the journalists to engage and help one another within their respective countries, further removing cultural and social challenges in writing about the challenge. Journalists will then be fully funded for a 5-day expedition in each country.

This initiative will therefore result with 5 investigative reports about pressing water and sanitation challenges in Jordan and Lebanon in three languages. The reports will be published on the SuSanA platform, social media, and local press.

The submission is already closed, please find updates on the activity in the SuSanA Forum.
