The 31st SuSanA meeting - the second time online - will take place from August 16th to August 20th 2021. It is organised by the SuSana Secretariat with support and contributions from SuSanA Partners, Members, Working Groups and Regional Chapters.
The SuSanA Meeting usually takes place back-to-back to the Stockholm WWWeek, which was cancelled due to COVID-19 last year and will take place online this year. And - just as last year - SuSanA is offering a virtual platform for meetings and exchange. But there is also one more new thing about this meeting: The regional chapters will host stepping-stone sessions that will reflect on specific sanitation related topics or challenges from the regions prior to the week from 16th to 20th of August!
Stepping-Stone Sessions prior to the 31st SuSanA Meeting
The SuSanA Regional Chapters are organising stepping stone sessions that will reflect on specific sanitation related topics or challenges from the regions and in order to gather the momentum and enthusiasm for the 31st SuSanA meeting, which will take place from August 16th to 20th. 22nd of June - India Chapter
The first stepping stone session will be organised by the SuSanA Indian chapter and focus on updates on COVID-19 related challenges and response work from different organizations and SuSanA partners, e.g. from IRC, WaterAid. The role of SuSanA in contributing to and supporting the COVID-19 response in India from the global level will also be discussed during the session.
6th of July - SuSanA Latin America
The second session, which is organised by SuSanA Latin America, will focus on WASH related challenges during the COVID – 19 pandemic and responses from different countries in South America.
13th of July - SuSanA African Chapter
The third stepping stone session by the African Chapter will focus on the chapter’s operational development, governance and its growth in the region along with future activities.
20th of July - WANA Chapter
The last session before the 31st SuSanA meeting will be organised by the SuSanA MENA chapter and focus on the emergency response in the region during COVID-19 pandemic. Organisations from different countries in the MENA region will provide inputs on how WASH activities was impacted and how organization adapted during to the pandemic.

Monday, 16th of August 2021
- Opening Plenary - 2:00 - 3:30 pm CEST
The meeting will start with an Opening Plenary on Monday, 2pm - 3:30pm CEST and include a welcome by the SuSanA Secretariat and the Planning Committee, exciting keynote speeches as well as thematic inputs that you dont want to miss.

Friday, 20th of August 2021
- Pre-Closing Session - 10:00-11:30 am CEST
The pre-closing session will all be about the future of SuSanA as the Change Management Task Force (CMTF) will give a presentation on the outcomes of their work and the way forward to a SuSanA 2.0
- Closing Session - 2:00-3:30 pm CEST
The closing session will include a reflection of the SuSanA31-Meeting-week, a presentation of the highlights and closing remarks, but also an outlook and a discussion on the way forward towards SuSanA 2.0.
