Training on biogas plant construction in Kenya (AKUT/GTZ)

These materials were kindly provided by AKUT and Partners.

The project’s overall objective is: “Small and medium-scale enterprises in selected value chains in agriculture increasingly use their market chances under an optimal farm economic and environmentally friendly production method as well as improved framework conditions.”

This project part component 4 has the aim to point out possibilities and to demonstrate with pilot projects, that the waste and byproducts can be handled and disposed environmental friendly as well as used by the companies in an ecological and sustainable way.

Therefore Kenyan engineering and consultancy firms should be enabled to offer independently consultancy and implementation services in the construction and operation of biogas plants and waste water treatment plants.

About 15 on site trainings and about 9 workshops on biogas plant construction and design of waste water treatment plants were held. Each on site training lasted about 3 weeks with about 15 participants.

The drawings provided here show a possible layout of one specific type and size of a biogas plant only. PLEASE NOTE: They are not ready to be used for execution since a number of important construction details are missing. However people interested in it are invited to contact the engineering firm AKUT at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
