Short Bio

I am an Environmental Engineer, having a 15-year experiences in Water and Sanitation Sector. Currently, I am working with CDD Society as Project Manager. I have got an extensive experience with regards to design and implementation of decentralised nature-based sanitation systems on the field starting from an individual household to cluster to city level. I was a part of India’s first of its kind FSTP at Devanahalli, and 1MLD DEWATS at Mahadevapura, Bengaluru.

I have been working the field of Environmental Monitoring with a focus on performance assessment of wastewater and faecal sludge treatment systems and recently also been closely working with Wastewater Epidemiology studies that undertaken in the Bangalore city.  Currently I have been managing all Research and Development activities at CDD and heading the laboratory which is NABL Accredited.

I also supported many of capacity building programs in varying capacities from developing the programs to delivering for different stakeholders. I was involved in developing many case studies, research paper related to the research work that I have carried out on decentralised nature-based systems.

Motivation/Commitment to the GSC

Over 15 years, I have been invested in decentralized nature-based wastewater treatment systems – researching, innovating, designing, and implementing them in different parts of India and other South Asian countries. I look forward to the GSC as an important knowledge-sharing platform wherein I will not only get to share my experience with the larger international community but also learn from well-known sector experts.

I am confident that I will be able to commit to over and above the required time every month to GSC with the larger goal of adding to sector knowledge through field-based experiences.

Is there anything else you would like to say to the SuSanA community?

The SuSanA community has always been a central source of insights, updates and new learnings from the global sanitation community for me. I would like now to contribute to the community in a more active and involved manner which is why I am seeking a membership to the GSC.
