Online course on preparation of the Shit Flow Diagram (SFD)

The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is launching an online course on the preparation of Shit Flow Diagrams (SFDs). The course will last for the entire month of June and has a load of 8 h/week. You can find out more on their website and apply by May 24 (deadline was postponed). There are also scholarships available! SFDs are a new and innovative way to engage sanitation experts, political leaders and civil society in coordinated discussions about excreta management in their city. It is a visualization tool that summarizes complex information into an easy-to-understand graphic, as it simply shows how excreta is or is not contained along the sanitation chain. It is a widely recognized advocacy and decision support tool, which has the potential to shift the focus of attention, money and activities towards effective and inclusive urban sanitation and more efficient investments, thereby, improving the situation of all urban residents and environment. 2019 GWC Partners Meeting and Emergency Environmental Health Forum (EEHF)

The Global WASH Cluster Strategic Plan (GWCSP) sets out the priorities decided by Partners for 2016 to 2020. The Plan describes how the GWC intends to deliver on these commitments. This plan is for all its members who are expected to contribute to the achievement of the plan and its objectives through participative engagement and partnership, both at global and country levels. For this coming year’s meeting the focus will be on the Capacity of the WASH Sector. This topic has continued grow in importance over the past few years and was accelerated during recent exchanges between the GWC, the Inter-Agency WASH Group and other key stakeholders about how we can collectively address some of the largest challenges facing our sector. The intended outcomes of this of this meeting is to have concrete and actionable recommendations at the end of 2 days which we will be presented to the Emergency Directors to get their support.
