3rd Early Career Researchers in WASH conference - WASH collaborations

Agenda | Program

In 2015, four and a half billion people lacked access to safely managed sanitation. Despite good progress since the implementation of the sustainable development goals, 892 million still defecated in the open, and over two billion lacked safely managed drinking water services. Furthermore, it is estimated that by 2025 half of the world’s population will live in water-stressed areas. As vital and basic as it is, adequate WASH services remain a huge challenge, putting billions of people, especially children, at risk: WASH-related infections cause around a million deaths in children under the age of five every year. This conference aims to provide a platform for early career researchers to meet and share cutting-edge research and thinking on these contemporary issues. We believe that collaboration, innovation and higher-level thinking across broad disciplines are key to sustainably and creatively solving the world’s challenges in WASH.
