Mapping synergies and trade-offs between sanitation and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Agenda | Program

The University College London is proudly hosting: ‘Mapping synergies and trade-offs between sanitation and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’. This one-day event will focus on the linkages between sanitation and each of the SDGs. We invite practitioners from the sector to reflect on unlocked opportunities to address gaps in sanitation, on the path to achieve targets in other sectors. This event aligns with the ongoing project ‘Mapping synergies and trade-offs between sanitation and the SDGs’. For this project, an interdisciplinary team from UCL is conducting a series of systematic reviews showing the evidence of benefits and risks associated to cross-sectoral collaboration. For this, it uses an in-house methodology for the comprehensive mapping of linkages between sanitation and the 169 targets. This methodology and results will be presented during the event. Guest presentations from professionals of the sanitation sector will take place in the morning. These will be followed by a workshop with all participants to discuss lessons learnt from specific country settings. Videoconferencing is being arranged to allow professionals to attend the event remotely. We kindly request you to confirm attendance before July 12th.
