Berger Biotechnik GmbH (BB) ist seit 1985 Hersteller und Lieferant für Systeme und Produkte zur biologischen Abfallbehandlung und oekologischen Sanitaer- und Wasserspartechnik. Darueber hinaus ist BB als Berater für Planung, Ausfuehrung und Betrieb sanitaerer Anlagen taetig und kann langjaehrige Erfahrungen in der Installation und in der Wartung der Systeme und Produkte in Einzel- und in Siedlungsprojekten im In- und Ausland vorweisen.

Das Verbundvorhaben und dessen Teilprojekte hatten zum Ziel, am Beispiel der sich entwickelnden privaten Universitaet „Valley View University (VVU)“ in Accra, Ghana, eine Kreislaufwirtschaft fuer ein zukunftsorientiertes und nachhaltiges Wirtschaften in Bezug auf die dezentrale Abwasserentsorgung bzw. Wasseraufbereitung zu entwickeln und umzusetzen. Die Ergebnisse dieses Verbundvorhabens sollen praxisorientierte Loesungen von Abwasser- und Bewaesserungsproblemen aufzeigen und auf zahlreiche Regionen mit Wassermangel uebertragbar sein. Dabei sollen sie u.a. zur Foerderung des Transfers deutscher Umwelttechnik in Entwicklungs- und Schwellenlaender dienen.
