Content - Summary

En milieu urbain, la durabilité de l'approche
Ecosan est fortement liée à la mise en place
d'un circuit de collecte et de transport viable
pour la valorisation des sous produits.
Contrairement à la zone rurale, les bénéficiaires
des latrines écologiques en milieu
urbain sont différents des utilisateurs des
sous produits.
Dans le cadre du projet Ecosan UE1 mis en
oeuvre par le CREPA sur financement de
l'Union Européenne et en partenariat avec la
GTZ (coopération allemande) et l'ONEA
(Office National de l'Eau et de
l'Assainissement), un circuit de valorisation
des sous produits des latrines écologiques a
été testé à l'échelle de 4 quartiers de la périphérie
de Ouagadougou. L'accent a été fortement
mis sur la commercialisation des
sous produits qui constitue une des viatiques
de la durabilité de l'approche. Il s'agissait
d'une part de mettre en place un système de
transfert des sous produits aux utilisateurs
finaux et d'autre part de créer une activité
génératrice de revenu pour les acteurs
Dans ce numéro, nous reviendrons sur l'expérience
de Ouagadougou qui a permis de
décliner des perspectives prometteuses pour
l'approche en zone urbaine.
