Este estudio de caso se trata de sistema de reutilización de aguas negras y grises en Chorrillos, Lima, Perú. 53 personas se beneficiaron del proyecto, 5 alumnos minusválidos más personal. El objetivo del colegio es mostrar cómo proyectos sostenibles y eco-eficientes de saneamiento pueden mejorar la situación ambiental en zonas desérticas, sin costos adicionales de fertilizantes y con un uso reducido de un valiosísimo recurso natural, como es el agua potable.

Con el propósito de tratamiento e irrigación se construyeron dos sistemas de tratamiento independientes: humedales para el tratamiento de aguas grises, filtro de compostaje para el tratamiento de aguas negras . La escuela hoy en día consume la mitad del agua que utilizaba anteriormente al mismo tiempo que cuenta con el doble de áreas verdes, porque reutiliza 2 m³ de aguas grises y 4-5 m³ de aguas negras tratadas por día para el riego de las áreas verdes, frutales y flores. Sanitarios de separación de orina y de deshidratación (SSOD) también fueron construidos.

La implementación de componentes de ecosan siempre necesita personal capacitado con experiencia suficiente, especialmente en países donde la tecnología como humedales artificiales es desconocida. El sistema es complejo y con muchos sub-componentes para servir a sólo una populación de 53 personas
