International Youth Council-Yemen (IYCY) is a nonprofit, non-governmental and Youth-led organization that is targeting Youth, Women and community in general. IYCY has a legal and independent personality. IYCY was founded on 01/02/2012 headquartered in the capital city, Sana'a under the provisions of Associations and Institutions Law No. (1) For the year 2001 with licensing number (24) .

Since the establishment of the international Youth Council-Yemen (IYCY) in 2012, IYCY has been implementing several programs in different sectors reached the most vulnerable population groups regardless of gender, age, income, culture or location, with lifesaving and economical projects through Yemeni governorates such as Alleviate poverty; suffering and injustice, the majority of vulnerable communities we serve face dire situations in the areas of health and nutrition. IYCY works to ensure inclusive access to the most basic life-saving services for all people. from 2015 to mild of 2018, IYCY thanks its donors for the generous support, we reached over 1.4 million people in around Yemeni governorates, with provision the most lifesaving services of Safe Water, Sanitation and Waste Management and Hygiene, Women Empowerment, Health Care, Food Security Livelihoods and Agriculture, Shelter NFIs, CCCM, Protection, Environment, Energy, Climate Change, Gender, Peace and Education services. In addition, almost 2.56 million people benefited from our work through implemented several projects in different sectors and scaling up our innovations.

IYCY works to ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all under the Sustainable Development Goals for improving the quantity, quality and accessibility of water, sanitation and hygiene to promote better health and advancing integrated water resources management. IYCY has carried out several activities cover all aspects of both the water cycle and sanitation systems. The provision of safe water, sanitation and waste management and hygienic conditions is essential for preventing and for protecting human health during all infectious disease outbreaks, including of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Ensuring evidenced-based and consistently applied WASH and waste management practices in communities, homes, schools, marketplaces, and healthcare facilities will help prevent human-to-human transmission of pathogens.

IYCY adopts the values of integrity, transparency, and credibility which contribute to the success of its work with other CSOs and INGOs. IYCY has a very rich experience working with stakeholders in different sectors as well as with local authorities and Local government which allow better coordination and implementation of the activities of IYCY's projects a cross Yemen.

IYCY has played a key role at the local and International Level by its partnerships with either UN agencies and other INGOs such as, UN OCHA, UNICEF, UN WOMEN, UN HABITAT, Help Age International, Global Water Partnership and many others. IYCY has got an international recognition and accreditations from different International organizations such as, granted special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), United Nations Environment Progamme (UNEP), United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification ( UNCCD) and United Nations Global Compact Global Compact . IYCY has also been a member of International organization and Networks such as Climate Action Network- Arab World (CAN-AW), Global Land Tool Network (GLTN), Global Environment Facility Civil Society Network (GEF- CSOs) and International Pollutants Elimination Network (IPEN).

IYCY strategic plan and commitments to promote equitable and sustainable development, deliver humanitarian assistance, and other relevant interventions for a better life and wellbeing of communities and individuals in collaboration with International and National Partnerships. Purposeful collaboration across sectors is the only sustainable way to reach every last person and put an end to hunger and poverty. We can’t operate in silos. Let’s work together to truly transform our world.
