Svyam Bane Gopal
“Svyam Bane Gopal” (which is a Partner, Member and Stakeholder of many United Nations’ environmental ventures, including UNEP Global Wastewater Initiative) is a volunteer-led community initiative from India working at the intersection of environmental protection, sustainable agriculture, animal welfare, natural resource management and community awareness. As part of its environmental and rural sustainability work, the organisation promotes approaches for improved management and productive reuse of organic wastes, including cattle dung, kitchen waste and crop residues. Through these activities, Svyam Bane Gopal seeks to contribute practical community knowledge and field-oriented perspectives to the wider sustainable sanitation and WASH community, particularly in relation to rural sanitation, organic waste management, resource recovery, environmental protection and community participation.
