An official, mandated UN meeting will take place in Dakar from 26–27 January 2026 as part of the preparatory process for the UN Water Conference 2026. The meeting will bring together key stakeholders to advance discussions and contributions ahead of the Conference. The agenda is available here: UN Water Conference 2026
SuSanA in its capacity as umbrella organisation will be present at the event and aims to position Sanitation and the key messages of the Community in the discussions of the various meetings. As part of its engagement, SuSanA is expected to participate to the multi-stakeholder day hosted by UN DESA on Sunday, 25 January and is considered to co-lead breakout sessions aligned with the interactive dialogue themes. As part of the preparatory process, SuSanA is is planning a webinar ahead of the meeting.
SuSanA’s engagement is coordinated by the Secretariat, and further information on participation, representation, and opportunities for involvement will be shared in due course. In addition, an informal SuSanA coffee meeting is planned for Tuesday, 27 January 2026 (time and location to be confirmed), offering SuSanA members an opportunity to connect on site. Further details will be shared closer to the date.
