CEPT University focuses on understanding, designing, planning, constructing and managing human habitats. CEPT University also undertakes advocacy and advisory projects to further the goal of making habitats more livable. This includes water and sanitation projects, a current major project being the Performance Assessment System (PAS) Project. PAS, an action research project in Indian states of Gujarat and Maharashtra, develops better information on water and sanitation performance at the local level, and help state and local governments to extend services to all, strive for financial viability and improve reliability and quality of services. CEPT has previously implemented projects like ‘Survey and Rating of Sanitation Facilities in Western India’, ‘Development of City Sanitation Plan’ and ‘Willingness to Pay for Water Supply in Ahmedabad’.
