Eine kreislauforientierte Nahrungsmittelproduktion ist sinnvoll, nötig – und möglich. Dabei gilt: Ressourcen aus der Schüssel sind der Schlüssel! Die Nährstoffe, die wir übere unsere Nahrung aufnehmen, können dank technischer Innovationen unter der Eliminierung von Schadstoffen effektiv aus unseren Ausscheidungen recyclet und der Landwirtschaft wieder zugeführt werden. So können der Druck auf natürliche Ressourcen minimiert, Kohlenstoff über Humusaufbau gebunden und Kreisläufe dezentral geschlossen werden. Die Sanitärwende bezeichnet den Umbau unserer Sanitärversorgung durch sukzessive Erweiterung der existierenden linearwirtschaftenden Infrastruktur mit kreislauforientierten Technologien.

Im Vortrag geht es um die Sanitärwende aus wissenschaftlicher und praktischer Perspektive. Einleitend wird dargelegt, warum wir existierende Nährstoff-Einbahnstraßen dringend zu Kreisverkehren umbauen sollten. Dann geht es vor allem um Best-Practice-Beispiele aus der Schweiz und Deutschland, die sich mit der Entwicklung von Technologien, Normen sowie der Forschung zur Düngerwirkung oder Organisationsmodellen beschäftigen.
