Establishment of Fecal Sludge Management Twinning Program

To meet the goal of improving FSM in Asia, the Multi-Country/City Twinning Program is connecting mentors from successful FSM programs in the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia to recipients chosen from India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Nepal to develop t

Activities

The following activities are designed to train recipients from four countries to be able to be equipped with the knowledge, connections, and professional support to successfully implement FSM programs in their communities.

Group trips: The program has designed all together 10 trips to allow FSM sector professionals (recipients) from Bangladesh, Indonesia, India and Nepal to visit sites demonstrating successful FSM and attend presentations. Also, it provides networking with other FSM professionals and opportunity for the long term collaborative partnerships.

National Trainings: In the program each participant have been required to make a commitment to mentor 5 other FSM professionals from their country. In addition to informal personal interaction with those mentees, recipients will lead a formal training in their home country to spread the knowledge of what they have learned.

Professional Fecal Sludge Management Organization: the FSM branch will be formed with the recipients and mentors to share experience and ideas and to grow as a professional field.

Video Series: for widespread sharing of twinning program message through the video medium a You tube channel will be established.
