Call for research: IRC announces two research calls on sanitation, deadline 22 August 2012

The announcement of funding opportunities for research on low-cost sanitation technologies for areas with high groundwater tables and faecal sludge secondary treatment options was published yesterday by the Sanitation Updates, maintained by the IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre and by USAID WASHplus project. Deadline for submission of full proposal application forms: 22 August 2012.

US$ 100,000 grants are available for innovative non-networked sanitation technologies for the urban poor. “Create the Next Generation of Sanitation Technologies” is one of topics in Round 7 of Grand Challenges Explorations, a US$ 100 million grant initiative of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Proposals are being accepted through May 19, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
