20 years with wastewater treatment wetlands in Sweden!
The 20 year celebration takes place May 22-24 2013, in the form of a conference in Nynäshamn with speakers from Sweden, The Netherlands and Ireland, and a half day international scientific workshop as a side event. The program covers experiences from two decades of operating treatment wetlands after municipal wastewater treatment plants, the role of wetlands in holistic water management in Ireland, wetlands for biomass production in Trelleborg, and field visits to two of the oldest wetlands in Sweden – the wetlands in Nynäshamn and in Oxelösund. The conference program is designed to suit both technical staff and researchers interested in treatment wetlands

Latinosan 2013 consists of two events: a technical conference and a meeting of senior officials that will result in the Declaration of Panama.

5th roll out of the WASH in Schools distance course

The WASH in Schools Distance-Learning Course was developed by Emory University and UNICEF as a cost-effective capacitybuilding initiative that reaches practitioners on the ground. This intensive web-based course will help participants identify areas of concern, advocate for improved WASH conditions, select appropriate behaviour change and technology approaches, and monitor programme outputs and outcomes.
Water Integrity Forum

To address the need for extending the reach of water integrity action, the Water Integrity Network (WIN), Water Governance Centre (WGC) and UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education joined forces to organise the 1st Water Integrity Forum in the Netherlands at UNESCO-IHE from 5 – 7 June 2013. The main objectives of the forum are to take stock of progress in addressing corruption issues in the water sector, to share knowledge, approaches and experiences, and to build alliances to address integrity challenges in the water sector.

The aim of the conference is to encourage and facilitate interdisciplinary communication between scientists, engineers, economists and professionals working in ecological systems and sustainable development. Emphasis is given to those areas that will benefit from the application of scientific methods for sustainable development, including the conservation of natural systems around the world.
