Sanitation and Hygiene Improvement in Rural Areas of Tambacounda, Kedougou and Matam - JICA's new technical cooperation project in Senegal

In this presentation, Junji Wakui introduces the work of JICA in the water supply and sanitation sector and its specific strategy for sanitation and hygiene promotion in rural areas in Senegal. The projects developed in cooperation with local partners and authorities attempt to bridge two different approaches, namely behaviour change and social marketing in order to prevent open defecation practices and promote hand washing as well as creating mechanisms for toilet construction.
