The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) (formaly known as GTZ: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit) is a federally owned organisation. It works worldwide in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. Their mandate is to support the German Government in achieving its development objectives. It provides viable, forward-looking solutions for political, economic, ecological and social development in a globalised world.

The German Toilet Organization (GTO) is a non-profit NGO, which was founded in Berlin in the October of 2005. The GTO is a network of people, who combine their experience from different professions to work towards common goals. Mission: To protect the environment and improve public health by raising awareness of, and providing people with, clean and sustainable toilet and wastewater treatment systems. Vision: Access to clean toilets and sustainable sanitation systems for all.
