We would like to warmly welcome 4 new partners of the SuSanA : Terre des hommes, Northern Youth Network (NYN), Fundación SODIS, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). We now have 148 partners in total. Below is a short introduction to each new partner: Terre des hommes Since its creation in 1960, the mission of Terre des hommes (Tdh) has been to come to the aid of children in need. It endeavours at all times to defend the rights of children, in times of war and natural disasters, or in less publicised situations of distress. Today, the Terre des hommes Foundation is a significant force among children’s aid organisations in Switzerland and throughout the world. It is the largest non-governmental organisation (NGO) for children’s aid in Switzerland. Tdh has expertise in the emergency sanitation field, in public health and childrens rights. Tdh has development projects and emergency relief programmes in more than 30 countries. To see their current activities visit the Tdh website Northern Youth Network Northern Youth Network (NYN) is a youth network based in the Northern Region of Malawi led by active young people. NYN is active in water, sanitation and hygiene and targets schools and poor communities by promoting dignity, quality of life and environmental security. NYN promotes sanitation actions at a household level with their programmes which are designed to provide and support youth groups and community based organisations. NYN aims to empower these stakeholders with skills development, sharing knowledge and best practices to instill positive values, foster good citizenship and build self-confidence among young people. To see their current activities visit the NYN website Fundación SODIS The SODIS Foundation works in Bolivia since the year 2001. It is a non-profit organisation that aims at creating, developing and managing sustainable projects to benefit the most vulnerable population. It is involved in water and sanitation interventions, reduction of child mortality and morbidity caused by infections related to lack of safe water such as diarrhoeal diseases. It develops and applies technology and biotechnology related to water purification and latrines. It is also committed to fight effects of climate change, and reduce impact of humans on nature through behaviour change, education and health promotion. To see their current activities visit the SODIS website Japan International Cooperation Agency The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) aims to contribute to the promotion of international cooperation as well as the sound development of Japanese and global economy by supporting the socioeconomic development, recovery or economic stability of developing regions. JICA actively promotes Sustainable Sanitation in those developing countries in which JICA is active and has been involved in numerous successful sanitation projects.
