Call to Action on WASH in Schools
UNICEF, WHO, Water Advocates, Water For People, IRC, Emory University, Save The children, CARE, Water Aid and  Dubai Cares as well as several other international partners are collaborating on a global campaign called “ Call to Action on WASH in Schools”. Experts from those agencies worked  on a publication named “Raising Clean hands : Advancing health, learning and participation through WASH in Schools”. An advocacy and communication pack has been also developed for use at various levels. The Call to Action for WASH in Schools targets primarily global policy and decision makers in the education, health and water sector, worldwide press, corporations and foundations to promote the message that it is time to act to equip all schools with WASH in Schools facilities. Call to Action for WASH in Schools was launched on 6th of April at DIHAD (Dubai Humanitarian Aid Development Conference) in Dubai.  It is important to identify key national, regional and global events to tap in for the Call to Action for WASH in Schools advocacy. Therefore we are asking partners to explore events planned for 2010 and advocate for creating a space for WASH in Schools. Partners who would like to join at the Call to Action for WASH in schools are welcome to visit www.washinschools.com  or www.unicef.org/wash/school website for further information.
