Dry Toilet 2012 - 4th International Dry Toilet Conference in Tampere, Finland

The 4th international Dry Toilet Conference will be held at the University of Tampere, Finland in August 2012. The main theme of the conference is Drivers for ecological dry toilets in urban and rural areas.

The topics are as follows:
1. Cultural, gender and social aspects of dry toilets
2. Economy, profitability and marketing
3. Productive sanitation (food security) and energy saving
4. Hygiene and health aspects (including hygiene education)
5. Dry toilet systems, technological options and urban applications
6. Dry toilets' contribution to mitigating and adapting to global climate disruption (including ground water protection)
7. Sanitation in disasters and reconstruction
8. Operation and maintenance of dry toilets
9. Legislation: Tools for promoting and controlling dry toilets

Conference fees:
Early registration until 15 May 2012: 400 € (Delegate fee), 150 € (Student fee)
Registration from 16 May 2012: 500 € (Delegate fee), 200 € (Student fee)

The fee includes a get-together party, conference material, all presentations and poster sessions, meals in the conference, evening reception at Tampere City Hall and a dinner on the Viikinsaari Island (except for students).

Deadline for abstracts is January 15, 2012. Notification of abstract
acceptance together with instructions concerning presentations and full papers will be sent in February, 2012. The deadline for submitting full papers is March 15. Notification of full paper acceptance will be sent in April 2012. Participants who make an oral or poster presentation must pay the registration fee by May 15, 2012, which is also the last day for early-bird fee payment.

Companies and manufacturers are invited to participate in the exhibition to be held during the conference.
