New case studies of South African sanitation projects

Two new case studies (draft version) about very interesting projects in South Africa have been uploaded on the SuSana website. Both case studies are in eThekwini Municipality (Durban) and were implemented by the eThekwini Housing Department and Water and Sanitation Department.


The case study "Water and Sanitation Programme, eThekwini Municipality, South Africa" describes a water and sanitation programme where free basic sustainable sanitation in form of UDDTs has been provided in rural and periurban areas on household level.

The case study "Community ablution blocks with sewers or infiltration, eThekwini (Durban), South Africa" is about an urban upgrading project with community-based water and sanitation provision in form of community ablution blocks.
