In response to worrying levels of acute malnutrition, ACF-France has set up a programme aiming at improving prevention, detection and treatment of acute malnutrition for children under five years of age, and pregnant and lactating women, in the Tapoa province, East region of Burkina Faso. By supporting activities related to nutrition and food security, ACF’s objective is to contribute to poverty reduction and the prevention of malnutrition in a sustainable way with local solutions. To increase the impact of these activities, the WaSH sector has decided to implement the “WaSH-in-Nut” strategy, which calls for the systematic integration of a minimum WaSH package in undernutrition treatment programmes.

En réponse à des taux de malnutrition aigüe préoccupants, ACF-France a mis en place un programme visant à renforcer la prévention, le dépistage, la prise en charge de la Malnutrition Aiguë des enfants de moins de 5 ans et des femmes enceintes et allaitantes dans la région de l’Est du Burkina Faso, et plus particulièrement dans la Province de la Tapoa. En soutenant des activités liées à la nutrition et à la sécurité alimentaire, l’objectif d’ACF est de contribuer à la réduction
de la pauvreté et à la prévention de la malnutrition de manière durable avec des solutions locales. Pour accentuer l’impact de ces activités, le secteur EAH1 (WaSH en anglais), a décidé d’appliquer la stratégie « WaSH-in-Nut », qui préconise l’intégration systématique d’un paquet minimum WaSH dans les programmes de traitement de la sous-nutrition.
