3rd annual Aid & Development Africa Summit

Now in its 3rd year, the Aid & Development Africa Summit returns to Nairobi, Kenya on 27-28 February 2018, once again uniting 300+ humanitarian and development leaders, decision makers and advisors committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the region.

Participants will gain first hand insights from development banks, donors and government agencies into their financing priorities and funding guidelines as well as benefit from networking opportunities. Expert speakers including Patrick Paul Onyango, Programme Component Manager, Water Sector Reform Programme at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Alberto Ibanez Llario, WASH & Solar Specialist at IOM, Olawale Maiyegun, Director, Department of Social Affairs at African Union Commission and Mamadou Biteye, Managing Director of The Rockefeller Foundation will give an update on regional WASH programmes and innovations as well as share insights and ways to ensure access to safe drinking water and sanitation in East Africa:
- Better supporting WASH practice in remote areas and conflict zones
- Discussing quality requirements and guidelines for drinking water
- Comparing solutions for water treatment
- Feedback from hygiene awareness and education initiatives: what works, what doesn’t
- Plus, roundtable on IOM - ECHO-Funded Global Solar and Water Initiative in Africa

The Aid & Development Africa Summit agenda includes keynote presentations, interactive sessions, themed roundtables, speaker panels, Innovator of the Year Award and an evening drinks reception to engage with decision makers and key stakeholders in Africa’s aid and development sectors.
