Innovative Financing for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in West & Central Africa

15 Dec. 2015 - 17 Dec. 2015 • Dakar, Senegal

Water supply and sanitation services, although recognized as a human right and essential to prevent diseases and promote development, continue to face major challenges to mobilize sufficient resources to meet the needs of the growing population. According to the Joint Monitoring Report Update 2015, globally an estimated 663 million people still lack access to improved drinking water sources and 2.4 billion people have no access to improved sanitation facilities- of them, 946 million defecate in the open.
