Content - Summary

Le projet assainissement productif mis en oeuvre et exécuté à suscité beaucoup de questions et d´inquiétudes, particulièrement par rapport aux risques sanitaires encourus par les producteurs dans l’utilisation des excréta humains et l’alternative que représente ces excréta par rapport aux engrais chimiques. Ce rapport a été focalisé sur les urines, dont l´objectif est de répondre à ces préoccupations légitimes. Il a abouti à l’identification des risques potentiels liés à l’approche et des opportunités qu’elle offre en terme de fertilisants et d’assainissement. Le diagnostic de l’état sanitaire des populations a été fait, les ouvrages et leur usage ont été caractérisés, les quantités de nutriments contenus dans les urines ont été évaluées. Aussi une analyse bactériologique a été réalisée pour vérifier le niveau d’hygiénisation des urines après 30 jours de stockage. Les éléments qui ressortent du diagnostic ont permis de constater qu’il existe certes des risques à utiliser les urines dans l’agriculture, mais au vu des mesures d’hygénisation et de sécurité vulgarisée, ces risques sont mineurs et ne doivent pas constituer un frein à la vulgarisation de l’approche.
